Toilet Paper and Fall Party Volunteers Needed
October 31st will bring lots of fun and festivities to Minburn Elementary and parents are needed to help. Send your rolls of toilet paper for the Mummy Wrap, assist Mr. Brenner with games, help 4th and 2nd with Pumpkin Math or help with the classroom parties.

If you have never been to a Minburn Elementary celebration this is at the top of the list. Contact the office at 677-2222 or Mary Smith at 491-3768.
Thank you to Switchback!
Minburn Elementary was lucky enough to have Marty McCormick and Brian Fitzgerald of Switchback visit our school on Tuesday, Sept. 16 as well as being the performers for the Meet Me in Minburn Concert on Sept. 20.

They were outstanding and had so much fun with the kids at both performances. Thank you to the band. Check them out at www.waygoodmusic.com

Also, a huge thank you to our Minburn Booster Parents for a great dinner and the Minburn Community Betterment Group for their support and providing the music on the 20th.
Parents and Grandparents Wanted!

Parent support is a big part of Minburn Elementary's successful.

Last year was a BIG year with the Playground Renovation but this year is all about getting together and building the parent/teacher/student community. See how you can help this year. Contact Mary Smith, Booster President 491-3768.

Save the Date - September 20th
For the past several years we have set up a fundraising program where the students sold merchadise and we earn a profit from sales. This year we decided that we should try something different.

This year we will have a dinner and concert at Meek's Park at the Big Heart Roller Rink Stage in Minburn. With the support of the Minburn Community Betterment Group, the Minburn Booster Parents will serve dinner in the park. We will ask for a free will donation and to come have fun. Bring you friends, grandparents, sisters and brothers and have a wonderful evening getting to know other parents, staff and community members.

Saturday, September 20th, 2008
Dinner 5-7pm
Concert 6:30-8:30
The Roller Rink will be open for skating.

The entertainment for the evening is Switchback from eastern Iowa/Chicago area. www.waygoodmusic.com. Switchback will also be doing an education performance at the Elementary earlier in the week.

Also, Discovery Toy representative Sarah Cutwright will have booth at the concert. All orders placed at the concert will earn money for Minburn Elementary.

Come join the fun and support your school.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PREP, SERVING, AND CLEANUP. CONTACT MARY SMITH.
Playground Renovation A Success
After a year a planning, fundraising, meetings and hard work, we can call the Minburn Elementary Playground Renovation a success.

And what a success it is...

Minburn Elementary now has SEVEN new pieces of playground equipment including Triple Chin Up Bars, Log-roll, Horseshoe Climber, Bongo Climber, Sky Wheel Climber, Power Pedaler, and Curved Balance Beam. Additionally, the Merry-Go-Round is being repaired, and the Small Metal Climber, the Dome Climber and and Swing Sets have all been painted bright fun colors. AND if that weren't enough...(I am beginning to sound like the announcer on the Price Is Right), we also repainted the United States Map back on the concrete along with the Four Square and Hopscotch Games.

Whew! What a job! But thanks to Jen and Steffen Heins, Mary and Doug Smith, Bobbie and Mark Hinds, Brad Forsyth and his tractor, Jen Coughlan, the Haner Family, the Enterline Family, Darla and Larry Pollock, Barb Burket, Paula Rolfes, Kerri Hoover and all the patient children for the hours of waiting while their parents were working hard.

We would also like to thank the Bock Family Foundation and the ADM School Board for their help with funding and materials.

Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

There will be murals done at a later date. We are just a little tired.
We have a New Superintendent.
Congratulations to Greg Dufoe from Liberty, MO. He has been hired by the ADM School Board. The ADM School Board did an excellent job of seeking input from adminstration, staff, parents and students as they were seeking applicants for the position. The applicants were narrowed down to two, Greg Dufoe and Jane Babcock and were interview by the four above groups and the ADM School Board. Both were excellent candidates.

Mr. Dufoe will start in July.
