Welcome To Minburn Elementary

Welcome to Minburn Elementary, one of ADM’s three elementary schools. Because we are a single section K-5 building we refer to ourselves as “the Village.” This organization gives our students the unique opportunity to build positive relationships with each other and the staff over a six year period.

We also offer a multi-age classroom for kindergarten-first graders. Our students learn the same content as the rest of those in the district, but are able to be with the same teacher for two years.
Students are actively engaged in learning throughout the day and take part in the Balanced Literacy Framework for reading and writing instruction. Our students spend from 35 to 60 minutes daily in mathematics instruction. Science and social students are taught through our Balanced Literacy Framework or by direct instruction depending on the grade level.

Minburn Elementary also provides a strong related arts program. Students attend media classes, physical education, technology, art and music. In addition our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students have the opportunity to participate in girls and boys chorus along with the 5th grade students exploring a musical instrument and participating in band.
We have a variety of special programs and additional services at Minburn Elementary. Special programs offered to our students include Gifted and Talented classes, Title I reading services, Special Education Programs, counseling, after-school tutoring and summer school.

The Village is a great place for kids to learn and grow. Minburn elementary also provides parents many ways to be involved including the only building specific booster club, classroom parents, field trip chaperones, and many other volunteer opportunities. The entire staff knows that Minburn provides an excellent educational program in a supportive, caring environment.
